Master Blaster

Well, whatever blogging material might have been floating around in my brain to post tonight just got kicked to the curb.

I just got the phone call.

It's official.

Yep. Bonafide Complete. Finished. Done.

"What is?" You might ask . . .

Well, in order to tell you properly, I have to introduce you to another friend of mine!

{Ahem!} Everyone! Please be introduced to:

KAREN! (and her granchildren, of course!)

Now, some of you may remember Karen from an earlier post, when I shared her and Beth's visit to my place. (You know. When the Saints were on a high!)

Well, before I share with you Karen's Big News, I need to let you know that Karen and I go WAAAY back to my New Hampshire days. Karen and I are what you classify as LifeTime Friends.

(You know, the kind that, regardless of how long it's been since you've talked to one another, once you are on the phone it is as if you were sitting at Strafford Farms sharing a Brownie Sundae, or possibly munching a Steak and Cheese from D'Angelo's. Or, maybe sharing one another's pantry during the weekend snowstorm. Or, driving to Houston at 3 am with the Daughters of Jerusalem. That kind.)

With that said, it's obvious why I was on The List of people to call once the deed was done. I'm important. I'm Karen's LifeTime Friend. :)

{ahem} Back to my point.

Tonight has been a monumentous occasion for Karen. Tonight was Karen's FINAL night of classes to complete her MASTERS DEGREE!!!! WOOOHOOOO!!

How exciting! Years upon years upon years of consistent, dedicated, nose-to-the-grindstone effort finally brought to fruition. An educational milestone.

Wow.

Now, lest you consider that somehow this accomplishment be shallow, or, not worthy of merit, please know that Karen is woman full of integrity and uprightness. A woman who knows the power of one. A woman who stands up for the downtrodden. The underdog. The less fortunate. A woman who speaks in the city gates, and makes a difference.

You see, Karen's life has been full of challenges and difficulty. But not without purpose. A reflection of one purpose of her life can be found at Christopher's Legacy. An effort to make a difference in the lives of children born with birth defects or illnesses; an effort to raise awareness as a result of her own path.

Yep. Karen is one fine woman. So, it's time to cheer her on! Applaud her success! Three cheers for Karen!

HIP HIP HORRAY!! HIP HIP HORRAY!! HIP HIP HORRAY!!

Congratulations, Karen! Why not reward yourself with a weekend scrap-fest? And while you're at it, you might as well order in from D'Angelo's . . .go ahead. Live it up a little. You deserve it! :)
