Bored On Friday Nite
It's bound to happen. One of those Friday nights that seem to stretch on forever, with nothing to do, nowhere to go, and noone to be found.
Boredom reveals itself in varied fashion.
One expression is to sigh deeply and make faces.
Tiffany is an expert.
Queen Boredom Extraordinaire!
(oh. wait. maybe I'm bored, too . . .or over-anticipatory over Dell's arrival . . .take a look at Dell's blog! The link is located on the left, under Links! :)

The New Health Food
Can you believe it?I love it!
In an era when the media portrays the American diet as lacking, especially where children are concerned, my kids have been raised to love veggies. All kinds. Broccoli, Beets, Brussel Sprouts . . .
Yep.
Case in point:
Just yesterday I arrived home from an afternoon outing . . .a bit hungry even. I was hungry for: Brussel Sprouts!
As I entered the kitchen, I spied a cooking pot on the stove.
Curious, I lifted the lid.
BRUSSEL SPROUTS!
Aubrey had cooked some up for a MID-DAY SNACK!
And ~ there were leftovers! YUM!
Plenty of anti-oxidants in our family! LOLOL

Construction KO
Gil's frenzied construction pace does have purpose: he is working diligently to be done with the front deck AND the shed addition before the Mississippi humid heat descends in full force.I stepped into the back yard yesterday, mid-afternoon, only to find my Beloved laid out in the midst of his project, napping. Knocked Out by his own effort!

Facing The Future

I looked into your eyes today.
They were bright and full of life.
Energetic and Joyful.
I smiled as you Jetta-ed me around in your new ride. The one you bought on your own.
I couldn't help but worship along with you, as you sang praise to the Lord for all the good things He has done.
As you hold your own, I am glad.
I raised you to be Independent. Strong. Forward-focused.
And here you are. All of those things and so much more.
I looked into your eyes today, and I saw the reflection of yesterday complete.

Congratulations, Bethany, on your new car!

WiseBird Lives!
The children and I just finished reading OmKasToe, the story of a young Blackfeet Indian boy as he journeys through the regions of Montana before the influx of European people.OmKasToe, a resourceful boy, rescues a young raven, whom he names WiseBird; trains it, and, remarkably, the raven returns the kindness time and time again by saving OmKasToe.
Aubrey and Israel were quite taken with the young lad and his adventurous bird. It seems as though the Indian folklore has Gram taken as well . . .at least "taken'" pictures! ~ Big Grin ~
Gram shot this AMAZING raven photo on her most recent travels to Nevada. We think Gram is awesome. She "ROCKS" [see photo below!]. Yep. She's a pretty WiseBird. :)

Angie Earned Her Car!
Her efforts have added to the heritage. It is so exciting to celebrate her success, at every milestone, she reveals growth of character, skill, and maturity. This accomplishment is no different.
Meet Angie Lewis, a Future Director in my Mary Kay Unit (Angi's Awe-Inspiring, Achievement-Reaching, Absolutely-Awesome Ambassadors!). She and her personal team have just completed the requirements that earn Angie the use of a Mary Kay Career Car, the Pontiac Vibe.
There are now four car drivers that have stemmed from the Ambassador Unit (YEAH!) and I am honored to have be associated with such women of caliber and strength; fortitude and dedication. My heart swells with a postitive pride and joy, such as that of a mother who loves her children. :)
Angie's success story is one of overcoming the battlefield of the mind. No matter that Hurricane Katrina caused an upheaval of her family, and created a move that took them to Huntsville, AL. No matter that intense extended family struggles sought to overtake her forward motion.
No, Angie dared to believe against all odds, and she succcessfully led her team to an incredible honor.
Way to go, Girl! Not only do I love you, I am proud of you!
