Timing It All Together

The old adage "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" is debunked in my world today, Choosers.

Over the course of the past year and a half the children have been studying ancient cultures in a broad sense. Beneath that umbrella of study subsections have been sliced out, and examined close up. The Chinese Dynasties. The Mongolian Peoples. The USSR. Greece. Interspersed with these subsections, has been a study of the original peoples who began the world. Patriarchs such as Abraham. The people of the Tower of Babel.

Couple this guided study the children have been doing with a personal Biblical study of tremendous proportions: modern day spiritual Babylon and the implications thereof.

One cannot separate the spiritual study from the natural study, and my interest has been awakened to know and grasp all I can about the correlations between the two.

Nor I can I dismiss the coincidence that my personal study was unwittingly timed with the series of studies the children have been doing. I didn't plan it that way. I had -no- idea the two would meet.

I am in introspective awe this morning, as I finish the last page of a book I requested, and was given, by an acquaintance. Visual aids accompany the book, bringing it further alive for me. Practically every jot and tittle of my trying to make sense of it all has come together in one amazing package, complete with metaphorical decorative wrapping paper and a bow for accent.

The timeline makes sense now. The overlapping of Biblical generations and world events have all been tied together in my understanding. I feel like I am a kid again: learning and wanting to know; searching and finding; grasping and obtaining.

Those blank spaces, the gaps in my education are being filled.

I find it cause to rejoice, because - let's face it - it's about time!
