Stream Of Consciousness

  1. Ostensibly unedited, spontaneous live or recorded performances, as in film, music, and dramatic and comic monologues, intended to recreate the raw experience of the person portrayed or the performer.

Thirty-nine consecutive minutes. Non-stop. No station identification. No pause button.

Constant.

My fourteen year old son, giving running dialouge during yet another round of Settlers of Catan last night.

It about did me in.

:D

And your fourteen year old son? How many WPM [Words Per Minute] does he produce?? Hmmmmm??

[smile] Hang in there. Revel in the fact that he's talking with you. I hear there are kids who don't like talking with their parents.

Ooooo... I love that game!

Taylor is the same way. Sometimes I have to ask her to just stop... take a breath... let my ears rest, lol. ;)

What amazes me is what I now listen to with a man/boy in the car! The finer parts of why this combine is better than the other and what makes that one odd.... Or the technical problems with Norton Anti-Virus and which download versions are better.

Not the same topics that dd & I exchanged...

:)

But let's not talk about who they got this from, OK? ;)

My newly turned 15 yo can absolutely drive me NUTSO sometimes! There are times that his sister will look at me like "when am I gonna get my turn?" Then we have to tell ds to "take a break so others can have their turn." OH MY! Yes. I can totally relate. But like someone else said, I have consciously remind myself at times that there are many 15 yo boys who don't say "boo" to their parents. At least my kid wants to talk to me. :o)

I can so relate! I've conducted experiments in the car to see how long he'll talk without me saying a word.

Hmmm...my boy is not much of a talker. Sometimes we have DRAG information out of him. Not that he doesn't want to talk to us, he just doesn't talk much.

The girls though...especially the littles...yep, they are TALKERS.

Not my 14-year-old but my 18-year-old. Talks a lot and fast! When he gets going, I'm about the only one who has a clue what he's saying. I've had all these years of practice!
