When Life Expires

no one is really ready for it.

No one has practiced for the day when it occurs.

No one has thought it through - what life would be like without you around.

It just happens.

The loved ones are left with a hole in thier heart,

And a longing to bring you back

If only they could.

I always thought that in praying with my children:
Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake
I pray the Lord my soul to take.

that I was giving my children to God again each night. But the more I think about Sterling's passing the more I have no idea what I would do or think if one of my children was in Jesus' arms right now instead of mine.

Our prayers and thoughts continue to go out to the Nesbitt family.

How my heart aches to read your words today, Angi -

So close to home - whether child or grandchild, the pain is deep... but the Lord's strength and love is so much deeper.

Praying for His healing touch in their lives during this time...and to better days when they can look back with delight, and less grief, at the time Sterling spent with them.

He must have been a special baby to have been returned to the Lord so quickly - another "little angel" rejoicing with Jesus... I hope he meets Christopher and they can talk about life back at "home."
