As you might be aware, Cajun's have many names for those delectable (to some) little treats - those miniature lobsters they pull out of the ground. Crawfish; Crawdads; Mudbugs. All acceptable names in any venue.
Little did I know, when I sent my oldest son off for a day of play with some pals that I'd have a verifiable mudbug of my own!
We'd planned a drop off/pick up scenario. In other words, Israel rode to the paintball park with friends, then I was to pick him up after finding the place, located in a remote part of them thar hills. :)
When I found it, and drove up, I was astounded. The area was packed, and crawling with people. Men, women, children . . . all in various stages of dress or non-dress, ready for the "war-zone". Coolers, sandwiches, paintball guns - all part of the landscape.
And what a landscape it was! When I rounded the corner at the top of the hill, I gasped! Below me, carved out of the valley, was a scene I was not prepared for. Here ~ take a look for yourself:
I had no idea how I was going to find my son among all those people, among all those blinds.
I shouldn't have worried. He was expecting me.
My jaw was agape when he came into view! Covered in mud, and looking quite worn out after 4+ hours on the field . . . a manly mudbug, indeed! :)
Can you say eeeeewwwww?!?!? LOLOL
He's now champing at the bit ~ his tastebud whet for more of the same.
