The Road Less Traveled

It was a zany moment, as we drove down J. Morrow Street. With honking horn and waving arms, the pickup to our left shouted out greetings of a higher sort than one is accustomed to hearing on today's highway. Craning our necks and rolling down the window, we chuckled as we watched the jalopy pull up beside us.

"I love your license plate, man!" the rather animated fellow shouted.

Gil shouted back, with delight, "Do you know what it means?"

"Why yes! Jehovah Jireh! The Lord my Provider!" he rambled several other names of delight surrounding his Lord.

Waving with smiles, we continued. The exuberant gentleman was not easily deterred. "Hey! This is for you!" Reaching his arm out the window, Gil took the business card from him, in a smooth maneuver heretofore only seen on Dukes of Hazard.

Wow. Members of a Kingdom, a family, meeting in an unusual way, on an unusual day.

We followed the link that was provided. And we read.

As I now review our vacation photos, many from atop the stunning Smoky Mountains in full dazzling array of color, overlooking a picturesque topical road view, I can not help but consider:

How marvelous is my God.

Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving!
Sing praise upon the harp unto our God,
who covers the heavens with clouds;
who prepares rain for the earth;
who makes grass to grow upon the mountains. Psalm 147: 7&8

Fallen Icon

aaacckk!

Oh the despair! I'm beside myself, simply put out. My husband, the valiant and distinguished Gil Silvers of Flickr fame, has changed his icon.

Sigh.

He revels in his own brilliance while I grieve over the loss of his eye.

Those eyes.

How they pierce me, azure blue.

Once, the world could see the intensity of his life passion through his eye. Alas, now it reflects on his genius.

Where is my camera? This simply must be fixed!

spreading the Joy

Wow.

I'm pleasantly weary from a long weekend. It's too early to go to bed, too late to begin an evening project ~ so I surf.

Joy's got a great blog. If you've not visited, you are missing out! The talent, skill and ability she (and her husband!) project thrills my visual heart! She's got a beautiful family to boot.

Tonight, I found this link on her sight: Free Hugs
Quite appropriate.

Care for a hug?
